Seputar Informasi - The police arrested a student with the initials ABH (16) in connection with the action of pouring acid on a SMK student with the initials MA (17) in Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

"He has been arrested," said the Head of the Unit (Kanit) for the Protection of Women and Children (PPA) of the East Jakarta Metro Police Ipda Sri Yatmini when confirmed, Monday (14/8).

Based on the interim investigation, said Sri, the perpetrator splashed the acid because he had a grudge against the victim's school.

"ABH's confession was that there was a grudge between schools," he said.

The hard water was deliberately carried by the perpetrator

Sri said that the acid was indeed brought by the perpetrator when he was riding a pillion with two of his friends. Then, when passing by and saw the victim, the perpetrator immediately splashed it.

Sri said that one of the co-actors with the initials A, who was also traveling with him, admitted that he did not know about the plan to douse the acid.

Meanwhile, for one other person, continued Sri, his party is still conducting a search. The police, he said, had also coordinated with the school regarding the acid attack.

"I have coordinated with the Principal, where he goes to school and the Principal promised to bring the child," said Sri.

Chronology of the events of the acid attack

Previously, a student was the victim of an acid attack allegedly carried out by a group of other students in the Pisangan area, Pulogadung, East Jakarta.

The incident was recorded on video surveillance (CCTV) and went viral on social media. In the video, the victim can be seen riding a motorcycle in that area.

At the same time, a group of students also crossed from the opposite direction on motorbikes. One of the mobs threw something at the victim, allegedly with acid.

Still in the video, the victim then stops his vehicle and is seen holding his face which is suspected to have been splashed with acid.

Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Pulogadung Police AKP Wahyudi said the incident occurred on Wednesday (9/8) at around 16.00 WIB. According to him, as a result of the incident the victim suffered minor burns and has received treatment at the hospital.
